2026 Candidate Requirements

The Maple Grove Ambassador Candidate Leadership Experience provides young women the opportunity for gaining confidence in personal and professional growth, learning networking skills, building relationships, taking pride in community participation, traveling the greater Maple Grove area and much more.  Every July, three young women are selected from the group of candidates to continue their professional development as Ambassadors, representing the City of Maple Grove.

The selected Maple Grove Ambassadors will serve for one year beginning July 17, 2026.  A $3,000 Scholarship will be granted to each Ambassador to further collegiate educational studies.


Candidate Eligibility Requirements

  • Complete the attached Google Form Application, Getting to Know You Questions, and Activity Resume

  • Application fee $30

  • Live, work or go to school in Maple Grove or Osseo

  • Current high school junior up until age 21

  • Have never been married. Agrees not to become engaged or married during her year

  • Candidates may not be pregnant nor have children

  • Have never been a candidate for Minneapolis Aquatennial Ambassador Organization


Judging Criteria 

A panel of independent judges (Selection Team) is designated to choose a team of three Ambassadors.  Their selection is based on information provided in the candidate applications, witnessing candidate events and evaluation per the following qualities: 

  • Poise - The way in which a candidate conducts herself with others during events as well as outside of the Program; posture, mannerisms and proper etiquette.

  • Personality - Reflect sound qualities of mind and character.  Show confidence.  Ability to socialize with people of all ages and positions.  Is genuine and enthusiastic.

  • Communication Skills - Be articulate.  Possess strong speaking skills.

  • Professionalism - Attend events in appropriate, professional attire. 

  • Attendance - Willing to participate in Candidate activities and accept Candidate responsibilities. Show dedication and value in commitment.

  1. Complete 2026 Candidate Application Google Form

  2. Upload "Getting to Know You Questions"

  3. Upload "Activity Resume"

  4. Pay $30 application fee - Venmo @mgambassadors (if you do not have Venmo, please reach out to Megan Belvedere and you can arrange for a different payment option)

*This $30 (non-refundable) fee is not meant to deter any Candidate from applying to the summer candidacy program. Please let us know if you have a concern with this fee and we will make it possible for you to participate.
